Message from the President

Dr. Laurie Joyner

Since the spring of 2020, we have eagerly anticipated the day we could once again gather as a learning community, a hallmark of our SXU experience. I am grateful for our incredible faculty, staff and students, all of whom worked together in important ways to de-densify campus and keep one another safe during the pandemic, while creating meaningful opportunities to connect and learn virtually.

We look forward to safely welcoming our students, faculty and staff back this fall. Witnessing our Catholic, Mercy educational mission in action through vibrant conversations, exciting campus activities and meaningful community service will remind us of how blessed we are to be a part of such a Mercy-inspired community.

We could not have asked for a better time to reconnect in person, as we continue to celebrate our 175th year of educational excellence. The articles below highlight important initiatives, opportunities and traditions that reveal the promise of Mercy, and the spirit that continues to inspire all of us toward compassion and service each day. Together, we are building on this work to secure our future for another 175 years.

Be on the lookout for opportunities to join us in celebrating this milestone.

With gratitude,

Laurie M. Joyner, Ph.D.
President
